It seems to be out of fashion these days but as an 'attacking' formation 352 is a guid yin. There are lots of opportunities for the middle to join the attack, bags of width and loads of potential 2-on-1/3-on-2 type problems for the opposition to deal with. At the same time, if the players are tuned up you shouldn't get caught at the back (em, too often) as those ones in the middle five not joning the attack should shore up any holes in defence. :?

A lot of managers now play 451, which has almost the same potential in attacking situations as 352 but with some added security at the back and a more regulated out-ball at full backs.

I like 343 and have also dabbled with 4231 and 4312. But as I often (too often ... zzzzzzzzzz) say to the players it doesn't matter if we play 442, 433, 1711, 22222 or whatever, if their attitude and workrate isn't right we'll struggle.

Yeh, a bit like Eric Morcombe playing the piano, "I play all the right notes, just not necessarily in the right order".

Best attacking formation, cannot see past 442.
You have two options beyond the defenders, 2 out wide, 2 driving in through the middle, and support directly behind and parallel to every forward player on the field.

CnC wot r u talking about, you obviously have no idea how to attack efficiently. You need a system where all players can contribute to the attacking play. 1-1-1-8 is the way to go, big kick from keeps, players play the swarm system, flood the defence and they score many goals this way, concede a few as well, but hey ho worked quite well for Keegan...

424 in modern football is probably the most attcking, only used when chasing games usually, apart from my team last year who tried it and went on a 8 game unbeaten run... Leaves you vulnerable on the flanks though, you can get away with it with teams upto 15ish, but after that any decent team will soon pick up on the fact you dont have defensive cover out wide........

I want to try a 4132 which I guess is basically the same as a 442 with a diamond.......
