It seems to be out of fashion these days but as an 'attacking' formation 352 is a guid yin. There are lots of opportunities for the middle to join the attack, bags of width and loads of potential 2-on-1/3-on-2 type problems for the opposition to deal with. At the same time, if the players are tuned up you shouldn't get caught at the back (em, too often) as those ones in the middle five not joning the attack should shore up any holes in defence.
A lot of managers now play 451, which has almost the same potential in attacking situations as 352 but with some added security at the back and a more regulated out-ball at full backs.
I like 343 and have also dabbled with 4231 and 4312. But as I often (too often ... zzzzzzzzzz) say to the players it doesn't matter if we play 442, 433, 1711, 22222 or whatever, if their attitude and workrate isn't right we'll struggle.
